I got talking to a monk in Thailand, and discovered that a person can be a monk for as long or short a time as they wish. It can apparently be a form of penance. According to the guy I spoke to, he was doing five years to pay for his sins. Amazing. It struck me that the robe is the monk almost more than the person wearing it, so I made a series of robes "wearing the men" so to speak.
